So, I last wrote in here when I was getting my BlackBerry over a year ago.  My, how time flies.  I'm in a new apartment now (right next door), Heather is no longer my roommate, and I have a new job at 300 New York.  That's a short summary of the last year.

I moved to Brooklyn about a month ago.  I still haven't finished moving all my stuff out of my parents' house, so I'm still kind of living out of a suitcase, but at least I have my own space.

The best part of having a laptop is being able to access the Internet from virtually anywhere.  How about now, with 15 minutes to go before a show starts?

This summer I'm virtually assured a job as a teen tour counselor.  That is, assuming that my references answer their phones.

In theory, I could be debt free by March 1st.  Even after spending $781 on a laptop.

YAY tax refund!

Getting paid to dress up as Santa (with elf in tow):  Priceless.

There are some things in life money can't buy.  For everything else, there's Santa Claus.

So I agreed to house-sit for Spencer and Diana over Christmas break.  That means I get to live at 43rd and 10th for about five days.

Working in Hoboken for now.  River Street; great view of what else, the Hudson river.

$17 an hour plus overtime.  Last week I did 64 hours.   No, thats not a typo.

Fringe Festival 2007:  188 shows.  17 venues.  Lots and lots of theatre.

Since I’m stage managing a Fringe show, I get $5 tix to any show that’s not sold out.  And if you volunteer, you get a voucher for a free ticket at the door for any show.

Yesterday I walked out of a show for the first time in my life – and I was seeing it for free!  That tells you something.

So I sent out approximately 50 headshots and resumes two weeks ago.  Response?  Nothing.
One week ago, I sent out 15 emails to various casting directors and artistic directors with technical positions available.  Maybe Sam was right.  Maybe I should go tech.  Here's why:

The AD of George Street Playhouse emailed me about their TD position.
A producer from Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment contacted me regarding their touring sound technician position for their upcoming tour to China.
I got a two week job as a stage manager for a new theatre company (Equity showcase).
I did get a callback for George Street Playhouse's touring company -- but the callback is at 6:30 and its in New Brunswick.  And my car has no A/C.
And to top it off, I got a $17/hr office job from a temp agency recommended to me by the director of My Inner Mark Berman.  Who says networking doesn't pay?

Of course if I get the China tour, I'm quitting the $17/hr office gig.  The tour would pay $800/week (plus the per diem) as opposed to $637/week.  AND I'D GET TO GO TO CHINA FOR FREE.
